This home was built in 2017 and had previously been maintained by another Control4 dealer. However, several ongoing system issues had never been resolved, leaving only the Control4 lighting control system operational.
System recovery and upgrade process:
- We first upgraded the Control4 software through multiple stages: from OS2 v2.9.1 → OS2 v2.10.6 → OS3 v3.3.0 → OS3 v3.3.3.
After three major upgrades, the system was brought to the latest supported version, providing enhanced functionality and a more user-friendly interface. - Built a dedicated internal network infrastructure for the smart home system.
- Migrated the Control4 system onto the internal network, ensuring it would no longer be affected by ISP upgrades from providers such as Shaw or Telus.
- Resolved multiple system issues, including:
• Power failure affecting Control4 bus lighting and soffit outlets
• Non-functional motorized shades
• Multi-room audio playback issues
• Low doorbell volume
• Damaged keypad buttons
• Automation schedule programming issues
After the upgrade, the Control4 system now fully integrates the lighting system, shading system, Control4 DS2 video doorbell intercom, security system, surveillance cameras, and multi-room audio.
