This luxury residence is located in Vancouver’s prestigious Shaughnessy neighborhood. Built in 2018, the home was originally equipped with a Crestron 4-Series smart automation system. The entire property features a fully integrated smart home solution including Crestron intelligent lighting, a Crestron video distribution matrix, Crestron multi-room audio, a Hunter Douglas shading system, a Nest climate control system, indoor touchscreen intercom functionality, a Dolby Atmos home theatre, as well as control of the garage doors and driveway gate, occupancy-based lighting sensors, and a comprehensive security system.
After gaining a deep understanding of the homeowner’s usage habits and evolving needs over the past seven years, we carried out a complete upgrade of the system to Crestron Home OS, while also resolving all previously existing system issues.
Crestron Home OS is Crestron’s next-generation smart home platform. Compared to traditional custom-programmed Crestron systems, it offers several key advantages:
✅ 1. Faster installation and shorter delivery time
No complex programming is required. Many features can be implemented through configuration, allowing for faster project completion.
✅ 2. Greater stability and easier maintenance
Unified system updates and simplified remote maintenance make long-term support and future upgrades much more reliable.
✅ 3. More modern and consistent user interface
Crestron Home features a beautifully designed native UI with consistent navigation logic, making it easier for homeowners to learn and use—similar to the Apple ecosystem experience.
✅ 4. Broader device compatibility
New versions continuously add official drivers, allowing seamless integration of lighting, shading, AV systems, door locks, and climate control systems.
✅ 5. More predictable and controllable costs
Reduced development and commissioning time results in a more efficient, cost-effective, and worry-free system.
